In Loving Memory

Preston Otterson

July 2, 1994 - March 9, 2024

Donor, Minnesota

Preston was a man of many talents who gave us countless memories during the short 30 years he was with us. He knew the words to every song and belted them out loudly. He danced like no one was watching—even when he knew they were. He loved Juicy Lucys from Matt’s Bar, loathed horses, feared most vegetables, and definitely did not possess an indoor voice.

Preston was a simple man who didn’t need much—just the love and support of friends and family,

He lived in sports jerseys, plaid flannels, and colorful Nikes. He loved KFAN, hated sweating, and was happiest when he was laughing and connecting with the people he cared about. He had an arm like a cannon, a monster slice off the tee, a ping-pong serve that could make you dizzy, a laugh that made everyone smile, a heart the size of Texas, and a tendency to swear like a sailor.

He loved his siblings, Kenzie and Jack, his beard, his cats, all of our family dogs, and Packer game days.

Preston was a simple man who didn’t need much—just the love and support of friends and family, and his treasured wooden beard comb.

Losing Preston has been the deepest heartbreak our family and friends have ever known. In the middle of that pain, we learned that he made the decision to donate his skin and eyes so that others could live, heal, and see.

It brings us comfort to know that even though he is no longer here with us, a part of him continues to help others. His gift may help someone recover from severe burns, heal from injury, or experience the gift of sight. That is an extraordinary legacy for one life to leave behind.

Preston was someone who brought light into the lives of those around him, and through this donation, that light continues. His kindness did not end with his life—it lives on in the healing and hope he has given to others.

We are incredibly proud of him and grateful that something so meaningful could come from such a painful loss. His gift reminds us that love and compassion can reach far beyond our own lives.

Forever loved. Forever making a difference.
